The Golden Gate as seen from 12R, Feb. 2002Membership in the Alameda Aero Club offers student or experienced pilots more of what they are looking for in a flying club.  As a member, you are a part owner of the aircraft.  You enjoy 24 hour access to all the planes via our convenient web-based reservation system.  In close proximity to San Francisco and East Bay cities, Oakland International serves as a convenient airport for both your ground transportation and flying needs. Student pilot training in the Oakland area is typically more thorough than in most places, given the diversity of terrain, airspace, and airport settings in the Bay Area.

To join the Alameda Aero Club you will need to provide the following minimum paperwork and a check or money order for $130.00 (see membership joining costs below). You may send the paperwork listed below to the Club address or bring it to your first meeting:

If you are a student pilot, and have met all the paperwork requirements, you may begin your training immediately. Applications can usually be processed within three days.

And finally, we really want to meet you. Come to one of our general meetings, meet other pilots, and hear an interesting talk on an aviation-related topic.  For more information, please call the Club at (510) 638-4149, or email the membership coordinator.

Membership Costs

Joining the Club requires: $100.00 Refundable deposit + $30.00 first months dues = Total $130.00.

That's it. Monthly dues continue to be $30.00 per month. Family members or other general aviation enthusiasts are welcome to join for $5.00 a month; inactive members pay $10 per month. No security deposits, no badging fee, no initiation fees, no mandatory assessments for cancellation due to bad weather etc... Just a phone call. So what are you waiting for?

Membership Agreement

In consideration of my membership in, and aircraft made available to me by the Alameda Aero Club, I agree that on all flights in Club aircraft as follows:

1. I shall abide by the Club rules and any future revisions thereto. Failure to do so will be grounds for expulsion.
2. I shall observe and comply with all Federal, State and Local air regulations and manufacturer's operational procedures.
3. I shall allow no one else to fly the aircraft.
4. I shall return the aircraft to the Club's place of business at the agreed time, weather permitting, in the same condition I received it, normal wear and tear excepted.
5. I shall report all accidents to such aircraft, whether major or minor, to the Club at once, together with the names and addresses of witnesses and all involved parties, in the event of an accident involving it, and not to move the aircraft unless expressly authorized to do so by an officer of the Club or unless ordered to do so by the FAA.
6. I shall indemnify and hold the Club harmless from any and all loss, damages, including insurance deductible, and attorney's fees resulting from my operation to Club aircraft.
7. I shall pay all bills based upon Club rates currently in effect, and any future modifications thereof.
8. I shall be responsible for any damage up to $500.00 while operating or attempting to operate Club aircraft, except in the case of routine mechanical problems or failures. I am aware of the general $500.00 deductible for hull insurance on all aircraft held by the Club. I stipulate that judgment may be entered against me in the amount of $500.00 for damages to any Club aircraft arising from my operation of said aircraft.
9. I shall comply with and be bound by: the Club Bylaws and any future Amendments, the Club Membership Rules and any future Amendments, and the terms of this agreement until my membership in the Club terminates.
10. I shall notify the Club in writing upon wishing to terminate my membership. I understand that my bill must be paid in full prior to terminating my membership and the Club dues continue to accrue until the bill is paid in full.
